The One Day Detail!

It’s time to introduce and give you a thorough walk through of what’s involved in our new service which is designed to give everyone the chance to experience living with a ceramic coated vehicle.

This is proving a very popular service in our business with it now being the second most popular package we sell just behind our minor paint correction service. This was engineered to provide high end detailing work to be available to the masses and stop people being fleeced by dealerships charging £599 for two hours work and inferior products!

This service will provide you some of the best workmanship in the detailing sector paired with some of the best ceramic and graphene coatings in the world at less than you would expect to pay! Interested? Have a read through the full process undertaken on a recent Yaris GR.

So what’s included and how do we get your car to this level and be protected with industry leading coatings… Here’s how!

The process begins the same as all packages with the wet work stages. First we cleanse and decontaminate the alloys, tyres and wheel arches to remove embedded brake dust for the alloy wheel faces to be ceramic coated later in the day. We then move on to the vehicle being thoroughly cleansed and decontaminated with all door shuts, boot shuts, fuel cap etc cleaned out. After the vehicle has been pre washed to loosen embedded dirt to make the contact wash as safe as possible we then move on to decontaminating the paint prior to machine polishing being undertaken. This consists of embedded iron being removed from your clear coat as well as tar and waterspots that may be on the surface. A final snow foam and rinse is then undertaken to flush all cleaners from the surfaces and gaps ready for the vehicle to be pulled inside and dried with filtered air through a blower system.

After Drying this client opted to add on our wheels off service into the package which includes the wheels being removed and prepped to receive a two year warrantied high temperature coating called IGL Eclipse to be applied to the full alloy wheel and calliper. The vehicle is placed on a ramp and wheels removed and prepared by removing embedded contamination and wiping them down with a pre coat solution. The wheels are then coated in two layers of IGL Coatings Eclipse. This will transform how you clean your car with brake dust no longer being able to adhere to the surface making future washing a breeze. This coating is also self cleaning due to its hydrophobicity.

After the vehicle has been dried and coatings applied to the wheels and callipers we then turn our attention to carrying out a single stage paint correction. This will take around 5 to 6 hours and is designed to remove light defects from the clear coat to maximise gloss from the vehicle and prepare the surface perfectly for protective coatings to be applied too. We first conduct a test area utilising different pads and refining liquids to get the best compromise of defect removal to gloss enhancement on the vehicle. This is not a paint correction service however it will improve the condition of your paint. We use our 12 years of experience in this area to get the best possible result from the single stage paint enhancement. On this occasion the paint was left looking flawless!


Following the single stage paint enhancement we are around 7 hours into this package. The paint and glass are then wiped down with a precept solution to ensure that no residues or oils are left behind on the paint or glass which may impede the adhesion of the ceramic coating to the clear coat or glass. This is an imperative step that we do twice to make sure the surface is absolutely perfect prior to coating application.


Finally we move own to the application of protective coatings and on this package it was the award winning, TUV tested IGL Coatings Elixir. Although this is a more budget friendly package we do not compromise and only use the very best coatings on the market due to our master accredited status with IGL Coatings.


The coatings is applied to the paint before being levelled with a two towel system over a specific amount of time to allow the coating to adhere to the surface perfectly. This process not only protects the vehicle for three years from UV damage, swirls and scratches and acid etchings it will also provide truly jaw dropping gloss to the vehicle and make cleaning an absolute breeze with no need for polishing or waxing for three years!

After the paint has been coated and levelled we then moved on to coating the glass on the vehicle which was another extra that the client wished to bolt on to this package. As the detail starts to near its end we refit the wheels drop the car back to the ground and torque the wheels to manufacturers spec before giving the interior a courtesy hoover and wipe down as standard. Finally tyres are dressed and all door shuts, boot shuts and recesses are wiped down with a polysiloxane sealant again to make cleaning easy for years to come.


The vehicle is then left overnight to cure within our detailing studio and the polysiloxane sealant is then wiped over the paint to protect the ceramic coating during the first week of its life while it fully cures and we are done! One GR Yaris completely transformed and protected with award winning coatings. The client was blown away with the results on his vehicle on the chosen budget.

Our Single Day Enhancement Package is Priced at £399 for a 18 month coating and £499 for the 3 year coating which is up to £200 less than what dealerships in West Lothian and Edinburgh offer for the application of a sealant that can be purchased for £15 on the internet. The dealership will take around two hours to simply wash and apply the sealant with no decontamination, no prep, no machine work and usually zero pride in the work they do.
